NICU Registered Nurse in Trussville, AL New

Provide specialized nursing care for critically ill neonates in a NICU setting, managing a range of complex conditions including respiratory distress. This contract position is based in Trussville, Alabama, offering an opportunity to contribute your skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Schedule/Hours

• 12-hour day shifts: 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend required
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care to neonates with varying acuities, maintaining nurse-to-patient ratios of typically 3:1, adjusting to 2:1 or 1:1 as acuity demands
• Perform arterial sticks, manage chest tubes and PIV lines, and maintain therapeutic devices such as cooling blankets
• Utilize Cerner electronic charting system for thorough and accurate documentation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  
  

Qualifications And Desired Experience

• Valid RN licensure with NICU nursing experience essential
• Current BLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• Ability to manage respiratory distress and other critical neonatal conditions
